Senior Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric & Azure | Brussels ( Permanent ) About the roleFor a leading organisation in Brussels, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to strengthen their Data Platform team.In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building and optimising a modern data platform. You will work on scalable data solutions that ensure data is securely processed, transformed and made available across the organisation.You will contribute to the further development of a future-proof Azure & Microsoft Fabric environment, working closely with Data Architects, Solution Designers, Data Scientists and business stakeholders.Your responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines.
• Build and maintain data solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics and Lakehouse architectures.
• Implement modern data architecture principles, including Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver and Gold).
• Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
• Perform performance tuning on Spark processing and SQL environments.
• Support Data Scientists in deploying and scaling data models.
• Develop and maintain high-quality data models for analytical purposes.
• Ensure data solutions are reliable, secure and performant.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to continuously improve the data platform.Your profile
• You have several years of experience as a Data Engineer within complex cloud data environments.
• You have strong experience with Microsoft Azure Data Platform technologies.
• You have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics or similar data platform solutions.
• You have strong knowledge of PySpark, SQL/T-SQL and dbt.
• You have experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• You understand data modelling concepts, including dimensional modelling and analytical architectures.
• You are familiar with modern data engineering principles and DataOps practices.
• You are able to work independently, take ownership and make technical decisions.
• You communicate clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
